Enabling a new business in new markets while supporting an existing, legacy one is challenging. In the absence of an architecture practice there is no view of the base or newly integrated business and technology landscape.
The challenges of setting up a new architecture practice, establishing appropriate governance and architecting for the future is explored. Additionally the debate of where to rationalize and where to build new is considered so as to enable a complex legacy and blue-sky landscape.
