In the run-up to Architecture World 2014 summit, we plan to run a series of panel discussions. Topics for these discussions are chosen from this year's agenda. These live (video) panel discussions will be conducted using Citrix GoToMeeting and format is designed to get most out of 60-minute slots. We expect these online interactions will provide a great opportunity to ask, answer and engage with peers from the industry. For each discussion, a small "group of experts" is chosen to share their ideas and views. Please plan your schedule to allow you to participate in one of the following panel discussions. ...

The term “Enterprise Architecture” conjures up a picture of large scale activity over a long period of time after which you reap the rewards. Many organisations are so hungry for quick results that they are put off by this idea of Enterprise Architecture thus losing out on the benefits it has to offer. Enterprise Architecture could be IT centric although it does not have to be like that always. It can be understood as IT Strategic Planning with an Architecture twist. So, how do you do this in an Agile manner? Firstly we have to understand what are some of the...

CEOs are investing a great deal in formulating winning strategies. Unfortunately, outcomes are not a pleasant experience. Globally, organizations are working on offsetting economic dampening behaviour with  new products and services in regular interval.  Very often, results are  not favorable due to inherent business complexity and associated business structure. As a result, even incremental changes are expensive and time-consuming. In absence of "Business Architecture", business strategy is just a mismanaged carnival of descisions that is desperate for revenue. "Business Architecture" is an evolving discipline which empowers decision makers with "Visual Intelligence." Using "Visual Intelligence," business managers can understand anatomy of business...

If you are a cloud provider, whether you are pure play or an internal IT department, it is very interesting to know who is buying cloud services, and why. In a recent survey by PB7 sponsored by EuroCloud Netherlands and others, a group of Dutch companies was interviewed about their motivations and hesitations around cloud computing. The survey's results were quite a bit more interesting than the usual lot. In this article I have cherry picked a few observations from the larger survey.
