35 companies from across the world walked away with the iCMG Architecture Excellence Award 2016 during the glittering awards night held at The Le Meridien, Bangalore (India) on the 8th of September, 2016. The winners were selected from more than 200 nominations for four different categories - technical, business, enterprise and industry verticals.
Globally, organizations are working on new ideas and creating products and services to ascertain their competitive edge. One thing can be unquestionably agreed upon that success is about taking smaller but continuous actions.  ICMG Architecture Excellence Awards competition provides a great opportunity for the teams and organizations to benchmark their Enterprise & IT Architecture capability. It provides a platform to showcase their grit and guts, their perseverance to continue and do more beyond their tiresome and long monotonous hours of work, and share with the community about the results, success, and their accomplishments. The determination to make a difference to their customers pushes the teams to deal with setbacks and challenges with aplomb.
iCMG Global Architecture Excellence Award Competition which is driven by independent jury has become a  global benchmark of excellence as the leading companies from over 30 countries across the globe.
This year iCMG Excellence Award for Enterprise Architecture was shared by The World Bank-USA and UBS-UK.In the Business category, in the 'Customer Oriented Business Models,' it was PT Bank-Indonesia who took the award home. JLL (India) architecture work was adjudged to be the best in the Business Process Management Category. The architecture of MWH-USA and National Stock Exchange-India were jointly adjudged by the jury to be the best in the 'Growing Business in New Territory & Service' category.

While the award for IT Landscape Rationalization went to FNB-South Africa and General Services Administration (GSA-USA), MTS-India and TAL-Australia jointly won the award in the 'Business Intelligence and Analytics' category. Maybank-Malaysia won the award for Architecture Governance. The Transformation and Planning Award went to Scotiabank Bank of Canada.

The Industry specific awards were presented to Air Canada (Airlines), Localiza Brazil (Transport), Credit Suisse USA for BFSI and Leidos for Defense/Government domain, while the award in Healthcare was won by Ministry of Health, Republic of Kenya. Also this year 'Enterprise and IT Architecture in Energy and Utility' was won by CLK Enerji ,Turkey, and Saudi Aramco.
SA Power Networks used Enterprise Architectrue driven IT planning and execution. With IT driving over 100 projects driven by business needs. The internal architecture methodolofy helps in optimizing investment in Information Technology, provides clarity initiatives, their priorities and dependencies and increase speed in delivering. You guessed it rigght, winner of Architecture Methodology category along with HP Enterprise IT4IT initiative.
Pilbara Ports Authority’s (PPA) Domain Integration and Architecture Redesign project is a significant ICT initiative implemented at one of the world’s largest bulk export port authorities. It involved PPA’s small team of ICT professionals as part of a challenging organisational merger undertaking in 2014.The ports of Dampier and Port Hedland are the two of the world’s biggest bulk exports, responsible for approximately 45 per cent of the world’s iron ore exports and approximately eight per cent of the world’s LNG exports. This initiative of Pilbara Ports Authority wins the award in Acquisition & Merger.

JUCEBOX is an innovative multi-protocol engine capable of connecting and controlling IoT and smart devices, building control systems and machines in a home, business or social network.  Running on its own JUCEBOX Operating System (the jOS), JUCEBOX is a vision of bringing the ‘internet of things’ (the IoT) to life in dynamic and exciting ways.
The awards were interspersed with dance performances showcasing Indian and European culture and thus reflecting the spirit of the awards and celebrations.
