Power of Enterprise Architecture Model in solving Four types of Business Problems

Power of Enterprise Architecture Model in solving Four types of Business Problems

In today’s world of rapidly evolving Enterprises, we hear about major corporations closing shop, getting taken over or pulling the plug on large scale programs due to over spending etc., This is because in many cases, Executive Ideas never get implemented in the way they were supposed to be. Strategies at various levels of the Enterprises are either inconsistent or incomplete.

So, how do you analyse strategies for completion and consistency? For example, how do you analyse IT Strategy in a systematic way to see if it is aligned with Business Strategy? This is especially hard when you realise that Business Strategies are in written text in bulky documents and IT Strategies are in Diagrams in Power point presentations. Almost all Management and IT Frameworks lack the ability to systematically analyse Business Strategies, look for Gaps, improve on them and suggest new strategies.

Using our “Enterprise Anatomy / Enterprise X-Rays” techniques, the above is achieved by applying strategy deconstruction technique. This technique helps in identifying "strategy primitives". This step is followed with identifying gaps in strategy definition and execution.
These gaps are defined over 6 different business stakeholder perspectives. Later, these "strategy primitives" can be used for creating new strategies and take corrective measures.

The keys to successful Business Strategy execution are in new and / or changed Business Processes, Departmental Functions or Services. When you look at changing or making improvements to Business Processes, current methodologies tend to address only the functionality or the automation aspect with very little room for innovation. Ours involves Business Process Deconstruction technique that enables innovative Solutions to be identified that effectively transform Business Strategy.

Successful Business Transformations are about applying Business Strategies and Processes completely and consistently and supporting them with Technology Solutions. It is interesting to note that the majority of organizations are either trying to improve on margins from existing products (services) or expanding to a new product (service) category. In fact, a survey by PWC showed that not only the big ones, several small enterprises (annual revenue $100mn) are embarking on transformation journey by expanding to new, untested product or service areas.

Often the Business Transformation initiatives include multiple Programs executed side by side. The highlight of our “Enterprise Anatomy” based problem solving is that we deconstruct the IT Architecture in the same way as Business Strategies and Processes. “Enterprise X-Rays” enable quick development of Architectures and Solutions from a common Anatomy (Repository). “Time To Market” ability is greatly enhanced.

CEO’s often manage their Executive Team’s metrics and measures and drive Strategic initiatives to achieve Performance improvement. There are several frameworks and Techniques that are being applied by professionals in this sphere. Unfortunately, most of the techniques do not have a way of consistently modelling the Strategy to Execution Steps and being able to develop multiple targets options quickly.

Using our Business-Xray technique, a decision maker can gain valuable "Visual Intelligence". This "Visual Intelligence" is key to understanding the anatomy of business strategies and insight to "Collaborating Business Components". These "insight" is key to visualizing impact of change; visualize linkage between goal, strategies and processes, and validate a solution.

We believe our “Enterprise Anatomy/Enterprise X-Ray” techniques are very profound and a world first. During our “Enterprise Architecture For Decision Makers” Program aimed at Business Managers and Executives, you will master these techniques with hands on exercises using our tools. You will also be able to apply them to your Business Problems immediately afterwards. Our Post Training Consultancy services will also assist you in implementing what you learnt in an optimal manner.
