Project Title
Cognitive Computing and Innovative Services Team
Project Description
Using newly emerging and innovative technologies, the Cognitive Computing Underground Economy team of the Architecture, Information Management and Project Management (AIP) Branch in the Ontario Treasury Board Secretariat successfully delivered CAC’s first Cognitive Computing Proof of Concept (POC) to support the Ministry of Finance. Through collaborative efforts with IBM and other partners, the team developed a cognitive model that combines large quantities of tax and non-tax data to quantify the underground economy (those not paying taxes) related to home renovation in Ontario. This has made a positive impact on both the underground economy research and quality of AIP’s cognitive computing services.
